We want our prayers to matter. What does an effective prayer look like? 

The church is built on prayer in the Spirit. However, there are no expert pray-ers! No matter where you are, you can start small and build the habit.

Impure longings and actions are rooted in unbelief - we doubt that God is good and that he is enough. We grasp for things that we think will bring happiness but that ultimately move us away from what we need. What we truly desire is a whole heart and it is possible to take a step in that direction.

As Jesus was tempted in the desert, we are also tempted. Take a practical look at Matthew 4 and how we are tempted in the areas of appetite, security and power.
